Film and literature lover with a particular interest in Bertolucci, Linklater, Lumet and Sciamma
Louis is a freelance writer and digital communications professional based in Liverpool. His love affair with independent film began at Manchester’s dearly departed Cornerhouse in the early 2010s, and ever since he has combined his love of film, literature and languages to uncover hidden gems and raise the profile of world cinema in the UK. With a particular interest in cinema as a spatial and temporal medium, Louis’ favourite directors include Bernardo Bertolucci, Sidney Lumet, Richard Linklater and Céline Sciamma.
Alongside writing about film, Louis has worked at the Phoenix Cinema and Arts Centre in Leicester, and is currently part of the team behind Wigan and Leigh Short Film Festival. He also dabbles in political campaigning and translation from Italian to English.
