Brazilian-American writer based in Denmark and addicted to slow cinema
Brazilian-American freelance film writer previously based in Aarhus, Denmark currently in Iowa City, Iowa. Aspiring filmmaker interested in queer film and the intersection with community-based creation. Passionate about film history and portrayals of gender in film. Studying Gender Studies, History & Film at Grinnell College, pursuing projects related to Global Masculinities as seen through mainstream film & analysis of the cinema as an interdisciplinary space. Addicted to almost anything labeled “slow cinema” and always ready to go down a rabbit hole. Firmly believes in the auteur and loves binging a director’s entire filmography in context, favorite directors including Gregg Araki, Abbas Kiarostami, Kelly Reichardt, Noah Baumbach & Claire Denis. Above all else, loves opinionated film nerds and endless discussions and conversations about films & the emotions, connections & investments we form toward them.
